James Hutchens, MFA
James Hutchens, owner and operator of James Web Design got his MFA in 1998 from Washington State University for Photography and Digital Imaging, the same year he began to teach web design at Washington State University as a graduate student in Fine Arts. Things have changed a lot since then, but James has diligently kept up with the website and photography technology. James went on to teach web design, Adobe Photoshop, photography, and digital photography at Central Oregon Community College for almost 20 years.
During his stint at teaching as an instructor in both the Art department and the Computer Science department of COCC, he started James Web Design. He found that many people were reaching out to him to find a web designer because they didn’t want to take on learning web design when they had their own businesses to concentrate on. Also, they wanted a professional looking business website, not something which obviously looked like they put it together as an amateur.
Professional Photography and Music
When he started James Web Design, he started to do more commercial oriented photography and continues to this day to shoot architectural photography, candid photos and portraits for website projects and the musical projects that he’s in.
James also is busy with many music projects in Central Oregon playing electric guitar. James’ musical interests are broad and he plays in bands of many different genres.
